About Dr. Jordan Valdez, ND, RD
Dr. V is a naturopathic doctor and registered dietitian with a focus on women's health and hormones. She has a passion for helping women in all phases of womanhood, from menarche to menopause, work with their beautifully intricate bodies to achieve optimal physical, mental, and emotional health.

Dr. V's own female health struggles in the past, as well as her desire to understand how the body works and how to best care for it, led her to pursue a bachelor's degree in Nutrition at the University of Texas at Austin. She went on to complete the University’s prestigious Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CPD) to become a Registered Dietitian.
Her yearning for more natural, integrative, functional perspectives and a broader scope of practice, as well as her experience working with a naturopathic doctor as a patient and a mentee, led her to pursue a doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in San Diego. She went on to complete years of clinical practice and numerous advanced trainings.
Dr. V utilizes a holistic, evidence-based, and personalized approach that addresses the root cause(s) of imbalance and supports the body's ability to heal itself. She believes whole-heartedly in naturopathic medicine as a path to true health and healing and is honored to be fulfilling her purpose by serving others as their naturopathic doctor and dietitian - her patients' progress, along their health and healing journeys, is her success!

Dr. V strives to be a dedicated healthcare ally and advocate for her patients. Patients can expect high-quality care that leaves them feeling heard, honored, and held as well as emphasized, educated, and empowered. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her significant other, spending time in nature, studying natural medicine, practicing hot yoga, and connecting with like-minded people.

"When we hold authentic intentions for our wellbeing, we sync our mind-body-spirit and tune into what we actually need. When we work with our body, we eat, move, and live in ways that align with true health."

About Naturopathic Medicine
“Naturopathic medicine is a distinct health care profession that combines the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are trained as primary care providers who diagnose, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions, while addressing disease and dysfunction at the level of body, mind, and spirit.” - AANMC
Naturopathic Medicine is Governed by 6 Principles
-
First do no harm - emphasizing the most natural, least invasive approach and integrating care with other health professionals as necessary
-
The healing power of nature - harnessing the power of nature to stimulate the body’s innate ability to heal itself
-
Identify & treat the causes - targeting the root causes of illness (rather than just suppressing symptoms)
-
Doctor as teacher - teaching patients to understand their body, take an active role in their care, and live in ways that serve their health long-term
-
Treat the whole person - considering the body as a connected whole (rather than just seperate parts) and treating the unique individual (rather than just the disease)
-
Prevention - taking care of the body before it becomes ill (health-care, not sick-care) and promoting optimal health (not just the absence of disease)
Naturopathic Medicine is Guided by the Therapeutic Order
-
A hierarchy of guidelines - from least invasive (e.g. nutrition, lifestyle) to most invasive (e.g. medications, surgery) - used to promote the least harmful yet most effective treatment possible
-
Our rule of thumb is in giving the body what it needs, taking away what it doesn’t, and addressing any obstacles to health
